Print Auction Social Media Role

My main role for the Print Auction was to create a Facebook and Instagram account/page under the name of ISO20. Fortunately, the name on both social medias were free and the name was able to be the same for both of them.

I posted as often as I could for both pages, as well as this, I shared many posts on my personal accounts so friends and family could see the work we were doing. Many other members of the cohort did this also.

However, I did face some challenges with this role - I was the only person posting on both accounts and it was sometimes difficult to keep up with the prints coming in. And over the Christmas break, I wasn't able to upload prints donated as they hadn't been photographed and uploaded to our shared drive. I feel if this didn't happen, we would've possibly had more interest in the auction and more people would've seen what we were doing and why.

I was also able to create a promotion on the Facebook page as Facebook gave me £5 credit to use. This resulted in 1,130 people seeing the post and 135 post engagements which included 2 post saves. This ran from the 7th November to the 12th November.

PCA SU, Plymouth College of Art and the BA Photography instagram and Facebook pages also posted about the event. This helped gain the interest of PCA Students.

Overall, social media was a success and I was able to encourage people to engage on the things I posted. However, it would've been more successful if there was more than one person in charge of social media as more posts would've appeared on people's timelines and we would have attracted more people to visit our social media sites.
